Gameweek transfer(s)

These are my transfers in this gameweek.

Pedro Porro (TOT) -> William Saliba (ARS)

With the injuries and suspensions in the Spurs backline, the chances of Pedro Porro keeping a clean sheet is slim, so I decided to transfer in William Saliba of Arsenal for their upcoming good run of fixtures. Arsenal is also top in the league for xGC so I'd like to piggyback on those clean sheets and possible bonus points or a goal or two in the future.

This turned-out to be a good move as Saliba got lucky to get a goal giving him a 9-pointer this gameweek, compared to Pedro Porro's 4 points - a net of +5 points.

Captaincy

Erling Haaland got the captaincy this gameweek. I either had Mo Salah or Jarrod Bowen as my Captain for most of the week. But I decided to look at the Chelsea defence (which Man City is playing against) and they only had one (1) clean sheet so far this season and that was against Luton Town. With that info, I like my chances and the odds of Haaland netting in multiple goals so I switched my Captaincy prior to the deadline.

Both Haaland and Salah scored 16 points so it didn't matter if you captained either player, and it was a good decision to captain Haaland regardless as he returned 2 goals and 1 assist in that game.

Lessons

I think I didn't regret any of my decisions this week. It's just unlucky that I benched Tsimikas (LIV) as he got a 15-pointer. But having said that, he wasn't even in the picture of starting that game until Joe Gomez got injured, so it was still a good decision to bench him with the info I had prior to the deadline.
